Apollo 17 Lunar Module Pilot Harrison H. Schmitt reads sign signaling that the final launch preparations are proceeding on schedule toward a Dec. 6 lift-off to the Moon. The sign is attached to a full-scale mock-up of the Lunar Module Spacecraft that will carry him and Mission Commander Eugene A. Cernan to a landing site in the Moon’s Taurus-Littrow region.
