Southern Dunes - False Color

The THEMIS VIS camera contains 5 filters. Data from different filters can be used in many ways to create a false color image. This image from NASA 2001 Mars Odyssey spacecraft shows a large sand sheet and dune forms at the margin of the south polar cap. The bright toned material at the bottom of the image is the polar cap.
