Hydraotes Chaos

This image captured by NASA 2001 Mars Odyssey spacecraft shows a small portion of Hydraotes Chaos. Chaos is defined as a distinctive area of broken terrain. Topographically, chaos regions have hills/mesas/plateaus surroundied by lower elevation valleys that crisscross in random directions.
